Cape Township Tour - 1/2 Day
Monday - Saturday (Sundays by arrangement, min 4 pax - includes church service) R590.00
RELIGION? POLITICS? ECONOMY? TRADITIONS? HOPES? THE FUTURE? We begin in the Bo-Kaap with a drive through the Malay Quarter and a visit to the District Six Museum, then on to the Cape Flats where we go to Langa, Nyanga, Gugulethu, Khayelitsha & Crossroads, including a visit to a local shebeen for a taste of sorghum beer, the meat market, the men's hostels, a local creche, a herbalist and a craft centre.
This is an interactive tour and you will have the opportunity to speak to the local residents and possibly even be invited into their homes.
Some quotes from those who've been:
"A fascinating trip - a real eye opener to the 'true Africa'. What amazing people. A memorable morning - Thanx" Emma (London)
"Really excellent. Put a lot of pre-conceived perceptions to rest learning about the reality. Much enjoyed." Ryan

Daytrippers believes strongly in supporting local communities and is a founder member of the Tourism Community Development Trust. The TCD Trust believes that tourism and hospitality stakeholders can play an important role in bringing about real change in our society.
The Masikhule home creche was one of the projects that lead to the formation of the trust. The original creche, while filled with happy, energetic children, consisted of no more than corrugated iron panels patched with cardboard providing little protection from Cape Town's weather. Thanks to many generous donations and the tireless efforts of our volunteers, the new creche provides a warm and dry environment for the children of KTC township.
We recently did extensive renovations at Baphumelele Educare Centre and have just built a respite care centre for HIV infected children. Our next project is a community centre with library, IT facilities, playground & greening project, to be built at Blomvlei Primary in Hanover Park.
