CHOOSE YOUR TOUR

As much as we love to bike, we also love to hike and our hiking tours take us all around the Cape Peninsula, into the Boland and way out to the secluded Cedarberg region with its dramatic rock formations and original San rock art.

All of our hiking tours are customized to suit the needs of each group. Much care and attention go into designing the perfect trip for you with regards to:

  • Length of stay
  • Size of group
  • Distance to hike each day
  • Budget
  • Degree of difficulty
  • Points of interest
  • Special attractions
  • Additional activities and sight-seeing

Some tours are continuous, hiking in one direction with luggage and food transfer en route. Others have us staying in a central location and going out on different hikes daily.

Cedarberg Wilderness Hike Experience

The Cedarberg Wilderness Area lies about 200 km north of Cape Town and encompasses 71,000 ha of rugged mountainous terrain. It is renowned for its spectacular landscapes and rock formations as well as its namesake, the increasingly rare Clanwilliam Cedar.

Leopards are fairly common in this area, although very shy and rarely seen. Baboons, Dassies, Grey Rheebok, Klipspringers, the small Grey Mongoose and the Striped Polecat are often seen. More than 100 bird species occur here, with Black Eagle, Rock Kestrel and Jack Buzzard the most common raptors. There is also a proliferation of ancient rock art from the original San inhabitants.

Boland Trekking Tour

We begin in the Winelands near Stellenbosh and hike up into the mountains with spectacular views over the sea to Cape Town and Table Mountain in the distance. Each days’ hike is about 15 to 20 km with some steep inclines. (distances can be adjusted to suit most groups).

Sleeping in mountain huts under the clearly visible Milky Way is rustic and peaceful and allows for a continuous hut- to -hut route through the pristine fynbos with beautiful mountain streams, valleys, birds, buck, baboons, dassies and more.
