Cape Town is one of our favourite cities to explore and there’s no better way to see the city and surrounds than on an e-bike. Renting an e-bike provides a uniquely interesting and fun way to visit some of the Mother city’s top destinations. Ride with class through the streets of Cape Town, visiting the key points in the city’s history, or trek up one of the world’s natural wonders. Check out our top spots for e-biking in Cape Town:
The City Centre
Cape Town’s City Centre is notorious for having limited parking space- and those who manage to find one generally have to pay very hefty parking fees. Why not then park your car at one of the pubic parking lots situated outside the city centre and enjoy a leisure ride into the City Bowl on an e-bike? One of our favourite e-bike rides is through the suburb of De Waterkant up the famed Adderly street, passing the iconic Golden Acre Mall and Flower market through to the Company Gardens. The Gardens are the perfect place to catch a breath and observe Capetonian life as the flowers bloom around you. A five-minute ride from the Company gardens lies the Multicoloured Bo-Kaap Museum.
The Cape Peninsula
One of the defining glories of Cape Town is its beautiful shoreline. Exploring the peninsula by taking a ride over the famed Chapmans Peak- one of the world’s most iconic cycle routes. The route has various stop & viewpoints where you can take in the majesty of the great Atlantic- it’s not uncommon to see a few dolphins or whales from time to time. Take a ride through the suburbs of Camps Bay and Clifton, home to Cape Town’s own Millionaire Rows. Take your adventure to the next level by discovering Cape Point and witness the beauty of the Ocean.
The Cape Winelands
A big part of the Cape’s history is the cultivation of various wine cultivars. Wine farms are scattered across the Western Cape province.
Most of them feature various mountain biking routes for those with an adventurous spirit. Take a ride down the Vissershok road and discover some of the greatest wines that the Durbanville wine valley has to offer.
