First seen by a European in 1488 and first climbed by a European in 1503. Now it’s your turn! Cape Town’s Table Mountain is probably the most well-known icon in South Africa, after of course, former President Nelson Mandela.
If you only get to do ONE thing in Cape Town, a hike up our favourite hunk of sandstone it should be! Our hike will certainly increase your heart rate and the panoramic views of the Mother City will leave you breathless! The hike up Table Mountain is a must for anyone with an adventurous spirit.
Various options exist, depending on the fitness and inclination of the group. The easiest option to summit Table Mountain is Platteklip Gorge – a moderate 2 to 3-hour hike OR for the fitter, more experienced hikers with a head for heights, we can tackle Kasteelpoort or India Venster. All return down Platteklip – approximately 1-hour hike (or via cable car 3 mins, but you will have to buy a ticket).
NOTE: We can also arrange a host of other longer hikes if you are looking to do e.g. Skeleton Gorge. Or maybe you are looking for a really exciting, lesser known hike.
